USA Jump Rope Members,
Thank you for your patience while we navigate through the many changes caused by COVID-19. USA Jump Rope was hopeful that the USA would be in a different place by Nationals in June and when that was not an option, we were grateful that AAU invited us to host Nationals after their AAU Junior Olympics. Everyone is more concerned about the safety and welfare of our members and athletes, so the decision had to be made to cancel an in-person event.
We do not want jump rope canceled…and we are extremely excited to host a Virtual Nationals to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and you! You will be able to compete from your home, local gym if your state allows practices or anywhere suitable that works for you. The events will need to be filmed with our timing tracks heard clearly in the background and uploaded to a specific website we will provide. We know this is not how most of us wanted to do this, but we are so excited to see you compete!
There will be a time frame for filming and uploading your events, a time frame for judges to judge and enter scores and a week of scheduled events for athletes, family, and friends to watch pre-recorded events. A virtual awards ceremony will happen after all events are shown. There will be drawings and giveaways during the viewing week!
The proposed time frame is:
· June 30 - Registration deadline
· July 13-24 – Submission/uploading events
· July 25-August 1 – Judging
· August 3-9 – Viewing and Winner Announcements
The events offered will be:
· 30 Second Speed
· Single Rope Speed
· 30 Second Double Unders
· 3 Minute Speed
· Triples (15 to 29) / NEW EVENT: 14 and under– 30 Second Criss-Crosses
· Single Rope Freestyle (new modifications will be announced shortly)
What does this mean? Get out your ropes and start practicing!
The Competition Committee is meeting very soon to finalize any modifications that will need to be made for events. We are finalizing fees and will send the fee structure very soon along with registration information. You can compete in all six events or per event, so we have something for everyone. We also encourage you to invite friends to compete with us, our event is open to everyone!
If you have not requested a refund for Regionals, you can apply your fee with USAJR and pay the difference for the tournament.
We will publish a keepsake booklet that showcases our seniors, teams, messages from coaches, special ads and messages to athletes and much more. This will be a time in history we will never forget, and you will want this keepsake booklet to keep these memories alive for many years to come.
We will also create a special t-shirt and 25th Anniversary tack pin. Bundle specials will be available.
We need your support!
As many of you have faced challenges and hard times during this pandemic, USA Jump Rope has also faced many challenges. We are asking any members that want to leave their Regional fees with the organization if you decide not to compete, to do so as a tax-deductible donation to help our organization. We are happy to send a donation letter to you if you choose to do this. We appreciate all or any portion of the fee as a donation or gift.
Please be on the lookout for what we have coming your way.
